Michael and Lynn had lived in their beautiful 3BR/2BA period Inner Richmond home for 32 years. After raising their two daughters there, they wanted to downsize into a 2BR/1.5 BA condo in one of the concierge elevator buildings in South Beach, where they wouldn’t have to deal with stairs and they could be in the sun more often. When we met with them their biggest concerns were how challenging the move would be (since it’d been so long since they last looked for a place), and managing all the logistics of the sale.

June San Francisco Real Estate Market Update

June is often a transition month from the height of the spring activity to the slower summer months when people roll out of the city to escape the fog. We’re noticing a slight slow down from the hyper-fevered pitch that seemed to grip the entire market during the spring. The bidding is still mostly ferocious in the neighborhoods surrounding the tech shuttle corridors (i.e., Noe, the west slope of Bernal, the north segment of Glen Park, Eureka Valley, the eastern and southern stretches of NOPA, and the eastern part of the Mission) for both condos and houses.

We’re at the height of the spring/early summer market and home inventory is still very low. There are more choices for home buyers than there were at the beginning of the year because more sellers are sensing opportunity and are rushing onto the market to sell while the housing market is hot.
